1 – Port Tasting  

It goes without saying surely that when in Porto, the number one thing to do must be port tasting! The amazing drink has to be fortified within the city to be properly classed as port, so Porto is the place to go for amazing Port tastings! 2 – Sail the Douro River  

The Douro River is the magnificent river that flows through the city of Porto! You can take it in from one of the 6 bridges that criss-crosses it throughout the city, but we recommend hopping on a boat and taking a cruise down it!

3 – Experience the Ribeira District  

If you’re looking for Portuguese charm, this district is full of it. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site – this area of Porto is filled with colourful houses, winding cobbled streets and loads of vibrant bars and restaurants to take in amongst the maze of alleyways!

4 – Tour the Livaria Lello 

Dubbed the most beautiful bookstore in the world – take a step inside and you’ll see how the bookstore earned this well-deserved name! Dating back to 1881 – this bookstore is one of the oldest in Portugal and has been ranked in the top 3 best bookstores in the world by Lonely Planet and The Guardian! Wondering what could possibly be so interesting about a bookstore? Step inside and see an absolute wonder of design and architecture. A fusion of neo-gothic, art-nouveau and art deco that is sure to delight anyone who were to step foot inside!

5 – Tour the City by E-Bike 

Hop onto an E-Bike and whiz around the city, taking in as much history as you can manage! This is a brilliant way to compress a full days’ worth of exploring Porto into a few hours which means you have more time to explore further! One thing about Porto is that the city is very, very hilly, so an e-bike is the prefect option to keep this tour leisurely!

6 – The Pink Palace (The Museum of Rosé) + World of Wine 

Lover of wine? World of Wine is an experience in Porto that has a number of fantastic wine based experiences. From museums and exhibits to restaurants and bars.  We’ve already discussed port but another wine that Portugal is famous for is its rosé wine! Gorgeous, fruity, refreshing and just what’s needed after a day in the hot sun. Experience the World of Wine’s The Pink Palace, also known as the Museum of Rosé! 7 – Take a Culinary Tour of Porto 

Munch your way across the city on a traditional petisco (snack) tour and taste what Porto has to offer. Tuck into Portuguese delicacies such as the famed Pastel de Nata and many other wonders of gastronomy – and of course wash it all down with a few glasses of wine!  

8 – Surf!  

Surfs up! Head over to Matosinhos beach, famous for its year-round fantastic conditions for surfing and catch some waves. This experience is perfect for everyone, from beginners to experienced surfers as all equipment can be provided and there will be expert tuition! So, what are you waiting for? Grab a board and come on!

9 – Climb the Famous Bell Tower  

75 meters tall, the bell tower of the Iglesia de los Clérigos offers some of the most stunning views to be found in all of Porto. Head to the gorgeous Baroque church and scale the famous tower to enjoy panoramic views of this beautiful city from above.

10 – See a Fado Show in the Basement of a Wine Cellar!  

Enjoy this one of a kind experience! See a performance of the traditional Fado music in the Cálem wine cellars! A truly experimental event, become immersed in the culture of Porto during a night of music and wine!
